Its Role

The National Chamber of Bailiffs is the superior authority representing the bailiffs’ profession at the Ministry of Justice.
It organises the training of future bailiffs and the bailiff’s Professional Examination through the Department for the Training of Trainee bailiffs (Département de Formation des Stagiaires - D.F.S).

It deals with and monitors the establishment, professional life and professional studies of bailiffs through its Loan Fund (Caisse de Prêts), Transport Reimbursment Service (Services de Compensation des Transport –SCT) and its Guarantee Fund ( Caisse de Garantie).. .

National Chamber of Bailiffs, through its bureau, is responsible for submitting proposals to the Ministry of Justice in order to amend laws and Decrees which affect the profession..

It hears disputes in professional matters.

It may set up committees composed of bailiffs and other competent parties with a mandate to examine issues of a general nature

It is the meeting place for the General Meetings in March and September and for Extraordinary General Assemblies during which issues relating to the agenda are discussed.
